Jair Cunha could be available for Nottingham Forest's Premier League clash with Coventry City this weekend. Manager Oliver Glasner confirmed the defender took part in a light training session on Thursday and will be assessed ahead of the game at the City Ground.
Glasner said the final decision on Cunha's involvement depends on how he responds to further work. "Jair trained with us today," the manager stated. "Hopefully, if there is no reaction and he can train with us, he will be available."
Forest will definitely be without fellow defender Nikola Milenkovic for the fixture. "Nikola, no," Glasner confirmed, referencing the player's absence from the recent win over Aston Villa. Apart from Milenkovic and long-term absentee Nicolo Savona, Glasner reported all other players are fit.
The potential return of Cunha is a boost for a side sitting 11th in the table with five points from four games. They head into the match on the back of a 2-1 victory at Aston Villa last week, a result that ended a run of two defeats and two draws.
Forest host Coventry, who are currently bottom of the league, on Saturday, 19 September.
