Nottingham Forest has put contract talks with manager Vitor Pereira on hold as both parties remain committed to future discussions. Pereira, who has one year left on his current contract at the City Ground, expressed a desire to stay with the club despite interest from Al-Hilal. He has not engaged with the Saudi Pro League side and prefers to continue his journey in the Premier League with Forest. The club is interested in renewing Pereira's contract after he successfully guided the team to safety in the top flight. However, it has been decided that now is not the right time to continue negotiations, acknowledging the risks involved if Forest starts the next season poorly. Pereira took over as Forest's fourth manager of the season in February, leading the team to a 16th place finish, five points clear of relegation. Under his management, the club reached the Europa League semi-finals for the first time since 1982, although they were eliminated by Aston Villa, the eventual winners. Pereira's record includes eight wins in 20 games, with only six losses. He previously managed Wolves and Olympiacos, where he worked with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.
